PROVINCE OF MONMOUTHSHIRE

ROYAL MASONIC TRUST FOR GIRLS & BOYS

2013 CHARITY FESTIVAL APPEAL.

FESTIVAL PRESIDENT.

R.W. Brother Reverend Malcolm C.G. Lane, J.P.,

Provincial Grand Master.

VICE PRESIDENT

V.W. Brother Anthony Williams, PGSwdB.,

Deputy Provincial Grand Master

The R.W. Provincial Grand Master has been delighted to announce that he has accepted an invitation to host the 2013 Charity Festival in support of the Royal Masonic Trust for Girls & Boys.

The R.W. Provincial Grand Master has also communicated to every member of the Province the membership of the of the Organisation and Fund Raising Committee that he and the Deputy Provincial Grand Master have appointed to oversee the Festival Fund Raising Campaign.

The Assistant Provincial Grand Master Worshipful Brother Robert Arundel has been appointed Chairman and he will be supported by the Provincial Grand Secretary, Provincial Grand Charity Steward  and Worshipful Brother Richard Davies – Chairman of the Monmouthshire  Masonic Charity – 1997. In addition he has appointed the following brethren to serve on this Committee :-

WBro Derek Thomas, PProvJGW – Homfray Lodge

WBro Leslie Evans - St. George’s Lodge

WBro Anthony Halse –Jasper Tudor Lodge

WBro Robert Fowler- Henllys Lodge

WBro Phillip Moles- St Gabriel Lodge

WBro Christ0pher Moss – Islwyn Lodge

Bro Vernon Edwards – Silurian Lodge.

As and when necessary the R.W. Provincial Grand Master has also authorised Worshipful Brother Robert to invite any member of the Province to assist with any future task or event.

At the end of June the R.W. Provincial Grand Master  and members of the Province Executive Committee met with the Secretary of the Royal Masonic Trust for Girls and Boys and mutually established a Target of £750,000. for our 2013 Charity Festival. This may seem a daunting target but if we all focus our efforts I am sure the rewards of success will flourish. If we could all consider taking out a Gift Aid Covent of £2.50 per week or perhaps increasing our current contribution to that level we shall succeed and the high reputation of Monmouthshire as Charity Fund Raisers will be maintained.

On 17th September, the Charity Stewards of Lodges met and engaged in a Workshop which all were able to participate in. The feed back was very encouraging and will be a sound base to further participate in the rewarding work with the 2013 Festival.

Some other dates which have already been confirmed are :-

1st October, Lodge Charity Stewards and Lodge Almoners will be invited to attend a Presentation Seminar by the Royal Masonic Trust for Girls and Boys.

29th October at Provincial Grand Lodge the meeting will include a short address from the Secretary of the Trust Fund.

2nd January, 2008 the Official Launch of the Fund Raising Campaign.

Additional Appointments

The R.W. Provincial Grand Master has also made some additional appointments which will serve the Province well.  WBro Robert Fountain of the Homfray Lodge, will become Provincial Mentoring Care Officer and with a Committee of assistants will work to complement and assist the Lodge Almoners and Lodge Secretaries with pastoral work.

Also, following the imitative of Grand Lodge Orator Scheme The R.W. Provincial Grand Master has  appointed WBro Brian Medhurst of the Albert Edward Prince of Wales Lodge, as Provincial Orator. Grand Lodge have a number of thought provoking short talks which I am sure will be of interest to all thinking Freemasons and these will be delivered to Lodges as and when they are available.  Further details of the additional brethren who will serve in these two functions will be circulated in a more detailed document by the Provincial Grand Secretary when they are finalised.

NEWS EXTRA.

The R.W. Provincial Grand Master has approved Worshipful Brother Robert’s recommendation that Worshipful Brother Julian Tod of the St. John’s Lodge No 818 be co-opted onto the Management Committee with immediate effect.
